Steve Simpson

Steve Simpson is an artist of international renown, as well as a Senior Lecturer in costume and textiles at Huddersfield University. Originally, Steve studied Fashion Textiles at Central St Martin's School of Art and Design in London. After graduating, he worked in the fashion textile industries in London, New York and the Middle East.

Whilst running his own young designers' shop in London's Soho, Steve embarked upon a part time teaching career which later developed into his role as course leader of the Costume with Textiles BA Honours Degree programme at Huddersfield University.

Steve describes his work as "art with a strong design emphasis" and produces limited edition prints to originals. Recent commissions have included Leeds Bradford Airport, local wine bars, dental studios, restaurants and private houses, often working in conjunction with the Ilkley based interior designer Emma Birch (01943 600920).

However, exclusive need not mean expensive! This contemporary range starts at a very affordable price of £75 for limited edition prints, which makes owning one of Steve's prints a real possibility.

Steve is resident in Saltaire, Shipley, Yorkshire, and his work is available on display at Massarella's Art Gallery, Victoria Road, Saltaire.
